3 position switch: The middle position is OFF. The left position is ON, used for testing and emergencies. Sliding the switch to the right puts the CFA into automatic mode - if the room is dark and motion is detected, the CFA will light up.

Light sensor: This sensor determines the ambient level of lighting. If light is available this sensor will inhibit the CFA from lighting up.

Motion Sensor: This component detects motion. If the room is dark and there is motion in front of the CFA it activates the light.
